Bahia Mar Boutique hotel

Six years ago, I was invited to stay for a month at Bahia Mar in Vilankulo, Mozambique.

The goal was to motivate a small beach clean-up team to keep protecting the coastline and to teach local artists how to transform beach plastics into art.

This experience profoundly changed my life, and the direction of Xicogaivota.

Since then, I’ve donated over €25,000 to support several local programs: from turning seahorse hunters into tour guides who now take tourists diving with these incredible creatures,to expanding the beach clean-up crew, supporting schools and students, and creating an eco-centre that buys and sells waste for recycling, and so much more.

six years ago a seed was planted, Now, I’ve brought my family along to witness the impact of these actions firsthand, and to remind myself that small steps, when rooted in community, can grow into something truly powerful.
